We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Behaviour Practitioner to join our Psychology, Behaviour Support and Counselling (PBSC) team at Elizabeth office
Autism SA has a strong and rich history of being a recognised leader in providing specialised services to autistic individuals, their families and the broader community.
This is a full-time 12-month contract opportunity based in our Elizabeth office.

What you'll accomplish
As a Behaviour Practitioner, you will support people on the autism spectrum, together with their care team, to address their individual behaviour support needs.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Delivering high quality behaviour support, therapy and consultancy for individuals displaying behaviours of concern;
- Undertaking functional behaviour assessments and other appropriate standardised assessments to develop and report on individualised support interventions and plans;
- Developing individualised positive behaviour support plans and other intervention programs; and
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop, implement and review support strategies.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Developmental Education, Psychology or related field with a behaviour component;
- Competencies to register as a Core Behaviour Support Practitioner under the NDIA PBS Capability Framework;
- Current registration or eligibility for full membership with the relevant national professional governing body such as DEAI, ACA, AHPRA, AASW or other as defined by the NDIS professional registration requirements of the relevant profession is desirable;
- Extensive knowledge of the principles of positive behaviour support and demonstrated experience in working with the Positive Behaviour Support Framework;
- Minimum 1 year experience working with people who display behaviours of concern and/or require behaviour therapy; and

Screening requirements
Satisfactory outcomes for the following probity checks will be required as a part of your employment:
- DHS Working with Children Clearance (WWCC);
- NDIS Worker Screening Check;
- National Police Check (NPC); and
- Full COVID19 Vaccinations (including boosters).
