About the team


The Direct Business Banking team is part of Business Banking and Agri, servicing business customers in the under $500K lending space.

We work with our distribution partners in branches, digital and consumer connection as well as our partners in operations and commercial credit risk to support our existing customers to grow and to attract new customer to BENs Business Banking proposition.


The Manager Direct Business Banking works in a central location, partnering virtually across Business Customer lenders, Consumer lenders, building relationships with customers to provide quality banking services and help grow their businesses.

The role


In this role, you are responsible for the retention and growth of the Direct Business portfolio of customers and ensuring BEN provides the right solutions to meet their needs.

You are one of our experts in small and Direct business needs and predominantly manage business lending below $500K.


As the Business Direct Manager, a key part of your role is to explore leads for new business opportunities (virtually) and maintains exemplary customer service delivery for the existing portfolio of customers.

Your success is impacted by your ability to deepen existing customer relationships through understanding our customer needs and providing customer service excellence.

You are responsible for developing and delivering win-win solutions that meet the customer's needs, objectives and interests and the Bank's growth target and risk appetite.

This role will be based out of Brisbane, Bendigo or Melbourne.

Some of the key capabilities and experience which will set you up for success in this role includes:
Demonstrated record of service excellence
Business lending experience and proven sales performance in the small business segment where you've consistently met targets
Demonstrated experience in credit analysis and writing in small business lending, desirable
Market knowledge relating to micro and small businesses
Proven capability in building trusted relationships
Financial analysis skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret financial statements
Deep understanding of the Bank's Policies and Procedures

Naturally, exceptional communication and problem-solving skills are an essential part of this role.
