    Inclusion and Wellbeing Directorate

    The Inclusion and Wellbeing Directorate drives continuous improvement of policies and programs that maximise access, inclusion, and wellbeing of students in education from pre-school to year 12. The Directorate leads coordination of state-wide strategy and policy to lift student participation, health and mental wellbeing, and outcomes for students with disability.

    About the role

    The Assistant Policy Officer undertakes a range of research, analysis, reporting, stakeholder engagement, implementation, and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of policy and strategic projects. The Assistant Policy Officer will work within and across Inclusion and Wellbeing to support priority programs and initiatives.

    Skills and Experience

  • Experience in supporting policy and project delivery and program administration, including demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage program data and project documentation to ensure the delivery of policy and/or projects and enable accurate status reporting.
  • Experience in engaging key stakeholders, either individually or as part of a team, to communicate policy and project objectives and provide avenues for feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Teams, to complete tasks, implement project plans and communicate with the project team and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's and upholding the and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
  • Have a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment
