The Opportunity
We have an exciting 2 year position available for a Policy Officer at EPA.

This role will contribute to circular economy and resource recovery regulatory reform in the Strategy and Policy Branch.? You will work across a range of projects including co-creating regulation settings to support the circular economy.

Our team's current portfolio of work also includes design of e-waste regulation.

Your work will encompass research, analysis and co-designing policy solutions with industry,?local government and other stakeholders.?This is an excellent opportunity to join a flexible and collaborative team working alongside a Principal Policy Officer and Senior Policy Officers.? You will be joining a high performing team working to deliver significant policy projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate and contribute strategic policy development by preparing briefings and advice in response to Ministerial and Executive requests on a range of priorities including reform initiatives in regulatory policy, legislative policy and economic policy
  • Provide project management and support services to the development and delivery of policy initiatives.
  • Undertake research, analysis, evaluation and writing to support the development of policy and legislative reforms.
  • Assist in the review of policies and policy reforms to assess appropriateness, effectiveness and efficiency and determine the need for corrective action and policy review to inform future planning and policy development.
  • Prepare high quality and fit for purpose reports/briefing notes and other written material to contribute to the evidence base for the development of policy advice and initiatives.
