Position Information:

Canley Vale High School is a co-educational, comprehensive high school in Southwest Sydney, proudly serving the local diverse, multicultural community.

The school successfully caters for the academic, social and emotional needs of approximately 1588 students including 96% students from a non-English speaking background and 6 students of Aboriginal heritage.

The student population is composed of enrolments from local, international and new arrivals to Australia.

Canley Vale High School offers a broad and balanced curriculum including four VET pathways; accelerated classes; designated EAL/D classes; timetabled Literacy classes; High Potential and Gifted classes and a newly established Support Unit.

Selection Criteria:

Approval to teach Technology Mandatory and Food Technology. Approval to teach or preparedness to undertake VET teacher training in Hospitality-Commercial Cookery providing the qualification entry benchmark* is met. Approval and/or willing to teach Textiles and Design
Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community to optimise student achievement of learning outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement quality teaching and learning programs with experience to differentiate for a wide variety of learning needs.
Evidence of effective classroom management and capacity to create and maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive environment that supports all students.
