Position Information:


Canley Vale High School is a co-educational, comprehensive high school in Southwest Sydney, proudly serving the local diverse, multicultural community.

The school successfully caters for the academic, social and emotional needs of approximately 1588 students including 96% students from a non-English speaking background and 6 students of Aboriginal heritage.

The student population is composed of enrolments from local, international and new arrivals to Australia.


Canley Vale High School offers a broad and balanced curriculum including four VET pathways; accelerated classes; designated EAL/D classes; timetabled Literacy classes; High Potential and Gifted classes and a newly established Support Unit.

Selection Criteria:


  • Approval to teach Technology Mandatory and Food Technology. Approval to teach or preparedness to undertake VET teacher training in Hospitality-Commercial Cookery providing the qualification entry benchmark* is met. Approval and/or willing to teach Textiles and Design
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community to optimise student achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement quality teaching and learning programs with experience to differentiate for a wide variety of learning needs.
  • Evidence of effective classroom management and capacity to create and maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive environment that supports all students.
