As the Property Officer, Strategic Asset Management, you will support the development and implementation of policies and strategies which maintain and enhance performance, value, and utilisation of the built asset portfolio of the department.

This position executes key performance strategies, associated policies.

  • Undertake the strategic asset management review of department assets making strategic decisions on property assets as it relates to divestment and reinvestment, redevelopment, upgrades, and demolitions. Including having regard to shortterm rental arrangements as a mechanism to support the attainment of mediumlonger term portfolio strategies.
  • Support the development and delivery of portfolio strategies, programs and projects for the effective management of a major property portfolio that maximises the useful life of a property asset and identifying disposal and redevelopment opportunities that align the portfolio to need and optimises its performance.
  • Investigate long term and chronic vacancy issues to develop solutions with service and program areas to ensure maximum utilisation of the housing portfolio.
  • Conduct property market research and analysis to inform decision making, providing advice to stakeholders/management in relation to the effective management of the portfolio and sales program.
  • Use property expertise, social housing business knowledge and the support of corporate systems to inform/ advise senior management regarding asset strategies, property sales, vacant dwellings, redevelopment sites and upgrades
  • Provide key input into the development and implementation of IT systems relating to strategic portfolio management.
  • Prepare correspondence, briefings, reports, information papers and submissions, and other relevant documentation as required.
  • Work across Housing Partnerships Office (HPO) to inform the delivery of precinctbased portfolio strategies.
  • Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of daytoday operations.
