Position Information:


Towradgi Public School has an enrolment of 185 students, consisting of seven mainstream classes and four support classes, including an Early Intervention Unit.


The school is renowned for its inclusivity, acceptance of diversity and promotion of cultural identity to meet individual student needs from Preschool through to Year 6.

Our school has an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population of 11% and an EAL/D population of 16%. We are focussed on developing excellence in student performance, teacher quality and whole school wellbeing.

Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary

  • Evidence of a visible and approachable leader with the proven capacity to balance the dual roles of an exemplary classroom teacher and the complex responsibilities of a K2 Assistant Principal.
  • Demonstrated expertise to lead current pedagogy, including High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) and whole school programs focussed on performing arts and/or STEM.
  • Proven excellence in enhancing student wellbeing practices, which foster inclusion and promote high student engagement to maximise the potential of a diverse range of students.

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
