About the role


Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Community Development Program within ALPA's community Services division and oversee the daily operations, strategic direction, employment consultancy and the coordination of activities of the CDP Site.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a locally tailored CDP program based on comprehensive community consultation.
  • Manage and develop CDP employees to the level required to meet the objectives of the program and funding agreement.
  • Ensure all activities and program elements consider individual participants choices and interests.
  • Responsible for all areas of the management, delivery, and development of participants activities.
  • Undertake all required administration to support the development and delivery of CDP activities.
  • Ensure that key performance measures are addressed, and that systems and processes are in place to capture and communicate performance.

Skills and Experience

  • Qualification in Community Development, Human Services, Social Work or Employment Services
  • Previous experience working as an Employment Consultant, Activities Coordinator, Site Manager or equivalent in the Community Development Program system
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities, and ethnic origin.

Desirable

  • Experience working with Aboriginal people in a remote location community
  • Prior experience working in the Northern Territory
