- Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that project plans are implemented in accordance with designs and specifications.
- Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects, review and make recommendations for improvements, as appropriate.
- Support the procurement process for contractors with the Commercial / Procurement team.
- Monitor construction progress for the area of work against programme and budget and report to the Project Manager.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders relating to the area of work.
- A relevant engineering degree (Mechanical)
- Experience on SMP mining / resources based projects.

About the role
We are currently seeking a mechanical project engineer to join our Rail Operations hub to work on the Cranbrook Rail Outloading Project based in the Albany Region of Western Australia. This role will operate on a FIFO or DIDO basis.
Rail Operations is an internal business unit within Laing O'Rourke, specialising in the sole delivery of all aspects of Rail, working with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of work across Western Australia.
