Join a sustainable, community minded and ethical property company**We are looking for a Safety Manager to join our team, in this permanent, full-time role in our Melbourne head office.


About the role


As a Safety Manager, you will implement the Stockland Work, Health, and Safety Framework to ensure the reduction of risk across both the state development and operations businesses, developing and supporting a "Risk Aware" culture.


Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Work, Health, and Safety Framework in the categories of OH&S, environment, business continuity, security and loss prevention, public liability and asset protection, and other areas of general insurance including workers compensation (claims and return to work).
  • Partner with the state development and operations businesses to help them consistently identify, assess, and control risks through the implementation of systems and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Support and advise the state development and operations businesses to manage project risks.
  • Undertake safety inspections of equipment and work practices on Stockland development projects.
  • Provide support, advice and guidance in incident and accident investigation.
  • Deliver work, health, and safety training.
  • Maintain accurate data entry and recording keeping.
  • Engage actively with the Operational Risk Team and contribute to Operational Risk Strategy

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum Diploma/Certificate IV qualifications in Risk/OHS/Environmental Management or equal qualification.
  • Proven experience in development and implementation of OH&S, environment, business continuity and enterprise risk management systems management.
  • Minimum 5 years in a similar role with a solid track record in construction
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement reporting, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and engagement skills
