About the role


The Assistant Director, Workforce - Schools and Preschools is responsible for leading a high performing team who deliver advisory and operational services to site leaders in the workforce planning, recruitment and selection of employees who are the best fit for their site's workforce needs and culture.


With a strong focus on human centered approaches to contemporary workforce issues, the Assistant Director will proactively work to identify improvement opportunities in the areas of recruitment, placement and deployment as it relates to site leadership, teachers, ancillary staff and temporary relief teachers (TRTs).


Through the provision of operational and strategic leadership the Assistant Director will drive P&C strategy and initiatives in sites across the system, particularly as it relates to getting the right people, in the right place, at the right time.


Qualifications and competencies:


  • Strong management and leadership skills with proven experience developing highperforming teams and establlishing a culture of excelllence.
  • Indepth knowledge of contemporary human resource strategies and practices that enable organisational outcomes. Highly developed interpersonal and relationship building skills with demonstrated success in achieving change through collaborative practice, negotiation and influence.

Special Conditions:


The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.

The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course which will be required to be updated every three years.
