About the RoleThe Maintenance Officer provides (under supervision), quality property support and maintenance services to all clients and to the site as a whole.

The role reports directly to the Area Manager and would suit someone who would like a permanent full-time role working in a supportive team environment.

Duties may include:

Managing/coordinating minor property works or equipment upgrades on the site, in consultation with the Property Area Manager and Residential Manager.
Liaising with contractors, tradespersons, suppliers, and volunteers as required, and ensuring that all contractors are inducted into the Baptist Care contractor safety program, and clearly identifiable in the facility
Ensuring maintenance is undertaken in accordance with the work orders issued through the 'maintenance connection' management system (MC), including both reactive and preventative tasks
Conduct basic fixing/repairing that are required inside and outside the property
Assist with physical inspections of property and premises
Assist with coverage on the other two Baptist Care sites in Canberra ACT when site's maintenance staff is on leave.

About You

Minimum of 12 month trade experience (trade qualification is desirable)
Have previously done similar role in building maintenance/property management
Demonstrated ability to achieve goals within set time frames.
Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and accreditation requirements
