About the role

Stantec's Transport Planning and Advisory team is recognised as a leader in the provision of traffic and transport solutions for a variety of clients and projects across Australia.

We are currently seeking a motivated Traffic/ Transport Designer to support our team based in Melbourne and take their career to the next level.

You will work as part of a dedicated and talented team on a range of projects, locally and nationally.

This role will be based in our Collins Street Office and is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to join a progressive global organisation with a great team culture.

Day to day tasks would involve:

Undertake a wide variety of design tasks including but not limited to
Detailed functional layout designs
Traffic signal designs
Horizontal alignment road designs
Construction Traffic management, staging and traffic guidance schemes
Car park layouts
Statutory signage & line marking plans
On-road and off-road bicycle facilities, and roadside safety barrier design.
Documentation for projects relating to road and intersection layouts, car parking layouts and associated infrastructure.
Ensure that design standards are satisfied, and client expectations are met.
Liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

To be successful for this role you'll need:

Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent
3 to 5 years of design experience in traffic engineering design
Previous experience in road design to VicRoads/DoT standards.
Experience with Microstation/ Autoturn design software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and well developed interpersonal skills to operate collaboratively within a team environment
