About the role


Stantec's Transport Planning and Advisory team is recognised as a leader in the provision of traffic and transport solutions for a variety of clients and projects across Australia.

We are currently seeking a motivated Traffic/ Transport Designer to support our team based in Melbourne and take their career to the next level.

You will work as part of a dedicated and talented team on a range of projects, locally and nationally.

This role will be based in our Collins Street Office and is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to join a progressive global organisation with a great team culture.


Day to day tasks would involve:

  • Undertake a wide variety of design tasks including but not limited to
  • Detailed functional layout designs
  • Traffic signal designs
  • Horizontal alignment road designs
  • Construction Traffic management, staging and traffic guidance schemes
  • Car park layouts
  • Statutory signage & line marking plans
  • On-road and off-road bicycle facilities, and roadside safety barrier design.
  • Documentation for projects relating to road and intersection layouts, car parking layouts and associated infrastructure.
  • Ensure that design standards are satisfied, and client expectations are met.
  • Liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of design experience in traffic engineering design
  • Previous experience in road design to VicRoads/DoT standards.
  • Experience with Microstation/ Autoturn design software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and well developed interpersonal skills to operate collaboratively within a team environment
