About the Department

The role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives.

It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.

About the Division

The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) guides the department's digital capability and is leading digital transformation for the department including Victorian government schools.

The Division architects, manages and supports the largest technology network in Victoria, supporting a user base of approximately 750,000 staff and students.

IMTD provides innovation and leadership in the transformation and management of the department's digital capability through the implementation of solutions on the department's cloud environment (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software (SaaS), using agile practices with a focus on user experience, security, and integration.

About the Role

The IMTD is looking for an experienced Delivery Lead who will be focused on maintaining and enhancing the 10 Year Digital Horizon for Schools (10YDH) strategy, ensuring it aligns with the department's priorities and evolving business needs.

The strategy, developed in collaboration with Schools Education Programs and Support (SEPS), aims to guide and manage digital technology investments in education, improving teaching and learning and ensuring equitable access to digital resources statewide.

Several programs are already in progress to implement this strategy, including "Securing Connected Learners," "Student Insight," and the "Teacher Principal Notebook Program.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to align the 10YDH strategy with business priorities, contributing to business case development for prioritized programs, monitoring and achieving business benefits, and building relationships with key stakeholders, especially within SEPS.

The role also involves contributing to program delivery, coordinating working groups, and comprehending the supporting programs, including their scope, funding, risks, and their impact on the 10YDH strategy's execution.

Capabilities

You will be skilled at working with people at all levels in the organisation, have strong communication skills, and can lead successful ICT projects.

Desirable Qualifications and Expertise

  • Demonstrated experience in the development, and ongoing enhancement and maintenance of complex ICT strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in business case development, including articulation of business benefits and appropriate measures/return on investment
  • While not needed, having related qualifications would be helpful.
