Working in public mental health has never been more important or meaningful.

About ELMHS

Early in Life Mental Health Services (ELMHS) provides assessment and treatment for infants, children, adolescents, young people and their families.

We work with the 0-18 age group in the Southern Region and provide a comprehensive assessment service and a range of treatment options including inpatient treatment in times of crisis, community (outpatient) treatment, group programs, family therapy, and specialist services.

We work with families in addressing a number of complex issues they may be experiencing including school refusal, parent/child relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma related issues, self-harm, suicidal thinking, eating disorders, neuro developmental presentations and psychosis.

We now have an exciting opportunity to join our Core Community treatment team, a thriving, engaged team of clinicians providing clinic based mental health assessment, formulation and treatment to complex and acute young people in the South East of Melbourne.

This is a permanent role, working three days per week.

About the team and the role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team led by consultant psychiatrists, the Core Community Treatment Team provides medium term treatment for children, adolescents and their families in the City of Casey, City of Greater Dandenong, Shire of Cardinia and the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula area.

We work collaboratively with families, schools and other agencies to create identified areas for change and work strongly from a relational and systemic framework and strive to work together to deliver first class service.

The role will combine both:

Clinical face to face work, including carrying a limited case load, supporting and mentoring other ELMHS clinicians (chiefly CORE clinicians) who are working with families; and

Secondary consultations within ELMHS, providing supervision, running peer supervision groups to ELMHS staff and providing staff training, working with other parts of the service as required (around eating disorders cases).
