    At PMG, our mission it to understand and distribute paid media levers to drive growth for our clients.

    We are continuing to invest into our ability to influence client outcomes with the integration of paid performance media. We see search as no longer just a google solution, rather a commerce solution that extends with the influence of other media drivers from awareness right through to the user website /app experience (as appropriate).

    Whilst Search still largely encompasses Google, this is a space we see rapidly changing with new AI applications as well as social search (eg TikTok). Whilst PMG currently have search operations, and a team that executes search, there is a clear opportunity with the addition of this new role to help identify and lead the search product for PMG and excellence in the performance delivery of search-based media for our clients.

    We are seeking an experienced search performance media expert, to exploit the search opportunities today and the emerging ones for our clients.

    Role Description

    This is a full-time role, based in Melbourne, Australia.

    As the Senior Digital Manager your primary responsibility will be bringing the best in class thinking and operational excellence to PMG's clients.

    Clients

    • Lead client search strategy, present recommendations to client, manage search campaign performance against client KPIs.
    • Deliver against customer acquisition targets, managing the role and contribution of search against full funnel optimisation (Awareness, consideration, conversion, retargeting) against defined targets.
    • Working with PMGs integrated media teams, prepare search strategies (including Audience Targeting, keyword approaches, and test and learn approaches relevant to campaign briefs).
    • Embrace the use of search-based tools and measurement to mine for competitive advantage.
    • Develop the search program activation and execution including the implementation of the following with the assistance of the digital team:
    • Manage Search Data Architecture including but not limited to: Google/Other Website Analytics, AdWords, DoubleClick, Bing, etc. Manage Paid Search account structures. Ensure Campaign Naming Conventions are kept in-line with process.
    • Oversee:
      • Tracking of Search Ads 360 Tracking, GA/Web Analytics Tracking.
      • Content development/ ads based on briefing materials, website content.
      • Traffic, upload, and QA keywords, harnessing the Bid Management Tool process.
      • Assist in record keeping, tracking reports and invoice reconciliation].
      • Interface daily with engines and platforms to ensure continuous improvement and test and learn approaches.
      • Provide status updates on search deliverables on a regular basis, including management of deadlines, budget, and reporting.
      • Participate in media performance meetings and offer ideas and suggestions to improve and evolve strategy, reporting processes, keywords, and creative.
      • Manage budget, closely monitoring under or overspend, traffic abnormalities, and opportunities for optimization recommendations regarding spend and pacing the account.
      • Create points of view regarding the latest updates regarding tools and User Interfaces (AdWords, Bing, Bid Management Platforms, SEMrush, etc).
      • Ensure integration with other Performance Media, POV's on the latest industry developments. Identify, and communicate trends.
      • Performance reporting with insights and optimisation recommendations.
      • Budget and performance projections for testing new search partners or technology.
      • Scope appropriate measurement approaches and visualisations that ensure visibility of data decisioning that drives better outcomes for clients.

    Team

    • Educate the team on PMGs evolving approach to evolving search / performance landscape and technology.
    • Work with integrated client teams to operationalise search performance capability, evaluate performance opportunities.
    • Manage development of performance and search/performance-based talent.
    • Build and maintain relationships with engine and vendor reps to ensure PMG accounts are healthy and utilising the best search products available.

    Skills/Expertise

    • Proven track record of driving client value – hitting KPI's and driving results.
    • Proven expertise in digital marketing, specialising in performance-driven campaigns with a strong emphasis on lead generation and conversions.
    • Advanced proficiency in performance reporting and dashboard creation utilizing tools such as PowerBI, Supermetrics, and Datorama.
    • Extensive experience in paid advertising across Search, Social, and Programmatic platforms, managing monthly budgets exceeding $1 million.
    • Expert with all major Search platforms and tools – can demonstrate this experience.
    • Clear point of view on the future of search and performance.
    • Experience with attribution approaches, and a clear point of view on which approach is best for which goals.
    • Loves the stories that can be found in data. Proficiency in Excel, creating Excel pivot tables, formulas, graphs, and charts to support this.
    • Ability to be a self-starter with strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage adhoc tasks with differing priorities and deadlines.
    • Can work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic space where things are changing rapidly.
    • Strong analytical thinking, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills.
    • Ability to organize and manage detail work.
    • Solid interpersonal and teamwork abilities and the ability to work without supervision.
    • Ideally line management experience. Someone who is passionate about coaching the next generation of performance guns

    Requirements

    • 5+ years of search, digital performance media experience. Must haves include at least three years of hands-on experience in executing search campaigns across major channels.
    • Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and Google Analytics certified preferred.
    • Current working knowledge and experience in search strategies and tactics, and linkage to the customer journey.
    • Experience with Shopping campaigns and product feed management.
    • Knowledge of relational databases, data structures/modelling in order to have informed decision-making regarding performance.
    • Exposure and understanding of marketing analytics as they relate to paid media.
    • Relevant education/degree is a plus.
