We are thrilled to announce our partnership with a renowned timber wholesaler dedicated to providing top-quality timber products to their customers across Australia. In this exciting collaboration, we are assisting them in their search for a National Sales Manager.

Collaborating closely with General Manager – Commercial & General Manager - Sales, your key role will involve developing and overseeing the execution of national merchandising plans, aiming to foster growth and drive profitable sales of their product range with a major customer who is a leading retailer of home and lifestyle products for consumer and commercial customers.

This role is an exceptional opportunity to contribute significantly to the organisation, focusing on strategic account management and team leadership.

About the role:

Develop and execute national merchandising plans to achieve growth and margin targets.
Build and manage successful relationships with client contacts and operational and senior staff of your major customer.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align national and state plans to deliver sales and business objectives.
Lead and manage a dedicated part of the business, ensuring KPIs and profit objectives are met.
Recruit, select, and train staff, enforcing company policies and procedures.
Coach, support, and develop Merchandisers, ensuring career development and succession planning.
Attend industry functions to provide market feedback and stay updated on trends.
Forecast merchandising requirements, schedule expenditures, and initiate corrective actions.

About you:

Minimum 5 years of strong background in working with a leading retailer of home and lifestyle products and effective relationship management.
Be willing to travel interstate and regional. Must have a valid driver's license.
Proven track record of managing budgets and meeting sales targets.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic thinking with a well-developed commercial and operational focus.
Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage workloads to meet deadlines.
Experience in creating and delivering professional presentations.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to identify, develop, and motivate talent.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and foster relationships.
Experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives to meet business objectives.
