We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant / Driver to join our dynamic Southern Cross Care Warehouse team at our Central Office in Glenside.


About the role


The Warehouse Assistant / Driver will be responsible for delivering orders to SCC sites on a rotational basis and ensuring sufficient stocks are held and turned around to meet the needs and demands of SCC sites.


Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring sufficient stocks are on hand to meet the needs and demands of SCC sites
  • Ensuring imprest inventory is turned around efficiently and effectively
  • Packing and unpacking of vehicle
  • Delivering orders to sites on a rotational basis
  • Unpacking of stock at sites as well as rotating stock as required
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle
  • Minimising overstocks and assist with removal of obsolete / redundant inventory items
  • Providing first point of enquiry to internal staff and external suppliers regarding the inventory of consumables and equipment
  • Supporting other team members and the Property and Procurement team by undertaking other duties as necessary

About you
We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.

  • Current forklift licence and C Class licence
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver in a warehouse environment
  • Physical capacity to perform repetitive manual handling and lift to 20kg
  • Sound interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with a broad range of people
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Intermediate computer skills for accurate data entry as well as accuracy with recording and counting
  • Ability to use manual pallet jack desirable
