Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyse descriptions and/or drawings for the purpose of identifying required specification of the product(s) needed
  • Develop product solutions and design specifications for the manufacturing of hoses and rubber products, including drawing up tooling, pipe sections and manufactured items
  • Liaise with Product Specialist(s) and/or Factory Supervisor to identify final specification of items to be estimated and quoted (including liaising directly with clients and suppliers as and when needed), to determine the materials and labour required to build items.
  • Liaising with suppliers to obtain pricing/quotes for items to be purchased to complete the build of the items.
  • Using and improving calculation tools to determine material requirement quantities
  • Develop and/or utilise internal templates to estimate complete costings of all items.
  • Logging all enquiries/quotes on an internal quote register database.
  • Issuing of final quotes to customers once agreed.
  • Creating part numbers and Bill of Materials for items quoted as needed.
  • Liaise with Order processing department to process customer orders.
  • Periodic follow up of quotations with customers.

What you bring:

  • Engineering ability to understand complexed technical drawings to determine product specifications and sizes and compile sketches or technical drawings.
  • Mathematical ability to analyse and calculate square meterage and volumes to use in estimating of costs to build items.
  • Sound experience with complexed excel spreadsheets and other Microsoft office programs such as Word and Outlook.
  • Highly developed organisation and prioritising skills and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with internal and external stakeholders
