About the role:


  • Stereotaxic viral surgeries in mice
  • Daily cognitive behavioural training of mice, including minor maintenance during weekends
  • Microscope work and postprocessing of brain tissue
  • Working under limited supervision and with other lab members
  • Analysing data and presenting analyses in various formats
  • Contribute to the production of published works including journal articles and conference and seminar papers, with opportunities to coauthor publications

This position is a fixed-term, full-time time role (1.0 FTE).

The role attracts an annual salary offer ranging from Research Assistant 1 (RA1) $69,730 to Research Assistant 5 (RA5) $84,917, commensurate with experience.

About you:


  • Minimum Honours or Masters degree in a Neurosciencerelated field
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent record keeping and data management skills
Experience with the below is desirable, but not essential:

  • Mouse behavioural training
  • Stereotaxic surgery (preferred but not required)
  • Coding (preferred but not required)
