About the role:

Stereotaxic viral surgeries in mice
Daily cognitive behavioural training of mice, including minor maintenance during weekends
Microscope work and postprocessing of brain tissue
Working under limited supervision and with other lab members
Analysing data and presenting analyses in various formats
Contribute to the production of published works including journal articles and conference and seminar papers, with opportunities to coauthor publications

This position is a fixed-term, full-time time role (1.0 FTE).

The role attracts an annual salary offer ranging from Research Assistant 1 (RA1) $69,730 to Research Assistant 5 (RA5) $84,917, commensurate with experience.

About you:

Minimum Honours or Masters degree in a Neurosciencerelated field
Ability to solve problems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent record keeping and data management skills

Experience with the below is desirable, but not essential:

Mouse behavioural training
Stereotaxic surgery (preferred but not required)
Coding (preferred but not required)
