    Our Region

    The Opportunity
    This is an exciting opportunity to support the Hinchinbrook Shire Council's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). You will bring a unique perspective and professional energy to the table and your commitment to efficiency and reliability will be unparalleled.

    Aside from the usual duties you would expect from the CEO's Office, you will be required to support the CEO in working closely with the Executive Management Team and other staff in creating momentum around key initiatives and organisational activities.

    Importantly you will be professional, people-focussed and driven to offer an exceptional customer experience to a range of stakeholders. You will naturally work independently, and you thrive on collaborating effectively with colleagues to ensure service excellence is achieved. You will have high level time management and organisational skills and you will be a forward planner.

    The position is accountable for organising the workflow of the Office of the CEO as well as making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. Supervision and coordination of other employees is a responsibility of this role.     Skills and Qualifications:

    • Qualifications in Business Administration or a related field advantageous;
    • Demonstrated professional energy and collaborative ability to provide high quality confidential and contemporary executive support to the CEO;
    • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role where you can demonstrate your ability to build the personal capability of individuals and the team as a whole;
    • Exceptional communication skills with confidence to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders with the ability to present information in public forums;
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines for self and team;
    • Extensive knowledge of office administration, clerical procedures and recordkeeping systems;
    • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of accurate reports, funding applications, and/or knowledge of grant processes (or demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge) highly advantageous; and
    • Ability to travel on official business and the possession and maintenance of a C Class drivers licence essential.

    What Council Offers:

    • 72.5-hour fortnight with roster variations depending on the position (9-day fortnight - RDOs in accordance with Council policy)

    General Salary Information
    Stream A Level 5 $84,451 - $88,136 per annum plus superannuation.

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
    Pre-employment screening includes Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and Criminal History Checks to ensure capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
