What to Expect

At Tesla, our mission is to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy. Integrating Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) into energy networks is a crucial enabler of that mission. We seek an Installation Manager to lead the deployment, operation and growth of Tesla's VPPs across Australia. To date, Tesla has successfully deployed Australia's largest VPP and launched Tesla Energy Plan for private homeowners across the National Electricity Market, with the VPP poised for significant growth.

This role requires an astute commercial mindset in combination with the technical knowledge and ability to ensure success. This role will also require proven financial and process management capabilities to provide smooth, sustainable, and scalable deployment efforts.

What You'll Do

The role is responsible for various tasks, including team management, internal and external stakeholder engagement, contract negotiations and administration, driving commercial success and leading VPP operations. The role is ultimately responsible for the safe and compliant engineering, design, construction and commissioning of VPP projects. You will also ensure the VPP program is successful regarding customer experience, budget and timeline.
The role must establish an ongoing commercial relationship with external stakeholders to achieve critical contractual and program objectives. In addition, you will be supporting the Business Development team to secure future VPP projects.

What You'll Bring

8+ Years' experience in the Australian energy market with an understanding of how to grow a business and develop products in a competitive renewable energy market.
People leadership and performance management.
Proven endtoend project management experience.
Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, and tendering processes.
Ability to manage field construction activities and labour services.
Working knowledge of battery systems, renewable energy, and grid connections.
Ability to work crossfunctionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Regulatory, Legal and deployment personnel.
Previous experience with VPPs is desirable.
Demonstrated attitude and approach, along with tenacity and learning agility.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
