Description
The
HR Business Partner, Australia & Japan is a member of the APAC regional HR team. He/she will be based in our Sydney/Melbourne office and travel to the Japan office frequently.


_High Level Overview_
This role is a strategic business partner for the Australia & Japan offices.

He/she will partner with the management team on a daily basis and be the point of contact for all the employees based in those two offices.

There is a people operations team available to support the operations of HR.

You are a passionate HR professional with 5-8 years of experience and a Bachelor degree.

You are hard-working, solutions-oriented, good at building relationships, communicating with a wide range of audiences and have excellent business acumen.

The working language is English, so you must be fluent in written and verbal communication of both. If you are also fluent in Japanese, it will be a great advantage.

Ideally, you have grown your HR knowledge and experience in both mature global organizations and small-medium sized businesses. You are expected to come with solid knowledge and understanding of local labor laws, regulations and common practices.

Reporting into:
Head of HR, APAC

Peering with:
APAC Regional HR team, APAC Payroll Manager, Global People Operations Team, Global CoEs

Key business stakeholders:
VP of Australia, Country Manager of Japan, Area Directors of regions, Sales Team Leaders across regions


_A Look Inside The Job_

  • Be the contact point for all employees, support employees with benefit/policy/change questions and timely resolution of all employee issues.
  • Create employment information, reports and presentations as required
  • Conduct new employee orientations and exit interviews
  • Liaise with external parties and internal payroll manager to ensure the compliance and effectiveness of salary payment and statutory employee benefits
  • Assists in updating company policies and procedures, continuously educating employees and managers to ensure compliance and professionalism
  • Drive regional talent process and framework on a local level, coach managers to improve their understanding and adoption of the talent framework, proactively identify improvement areas and consult management on this front
  • Identify learning needs and translate them into L&D initiatives aligning with regional L&D framework, ideally being able to design and deliver workshops
  • Analyze trends and metrics to identify areas for improvement and changes and drive action plans with local management
  • Implement regional strategies and drive a range of people related local initiatives such as Wellness, DEI, CSR, Engagement, Hybrid Work, etc.
  • Drive employee relations process and resolve those issues together with management in a professional manner with a high level of integrity and compliance to the company policies and values
  • Proactively participate in business meetings, seek to understand business and organizational strategies and learn to translate them into people initiatives
  • Conduct regular meetings with managers in office to build good relationship, credibility and provide expert HR consultancy and guidance when and where necessary
  • Participate and represent HR team in office meetings
  • Partner with APAC HR team on regional projects and other day to day tasks

Skills & Requirements:


What Will You Bring?

_Education & Experience_

  • Bachelor degree in HR or similar discipline
  • 58 years' experience as an HR Generalist/Advisor/Business Partner
  • Solid knowledge of full employment cycle management and contemporary business partnering methodologies
  • Solid knowledge of employment law and common practices in Australia, experience with employee relations is a must

  • Previous experience working with Japan or any other country apart from Australia in APAC region.
