Paediatric Emergency Department


If you enjoy working in a supportive, dynamic, evolving environment, with a wide diversity of patients then Monash Medical Centre's Paediatric Emergency Department is the place for you.

The new paediatric ED at Monash Medical Centre is co-located next to the Adult ED but staffed separately. We are the paediatric tertiary referral centre for south-eastern Victoria. Monash Children's new hospital facilities opened in 2017, further establishing Monash Health as a leader in paediatric care. MMC is accredited for 12 months of PEM training.

Opportunity exists for rotations to Casey Hospital general paediatrics, PICU and RCH ED. Please note your interest in these roles in your cover letter when applying.


Casey Hospital Paediatric Department


Casey Hospital is accredited by the RACP for Basic Training for those on secondment from the Victorian Basic Training Program, and for Advanced Training in General Paediatrics with a perinatal component.

General Practice and Emergency Registrars who are looking to gain further Paediatric and Neonatal skills and believe they have the skills and experience to function at Paediatric Registrar level, are welcome to apply.


The successful applicant will join a team of 7 registrars to provide 24/7 cover for our services in one of the major growth corridors in Melbourne.

This position offers a broad range of general paediatric experience in an outer metropolitan setting as well as plenty of neonatal experience in our nursery.


About the Role:


An exciting opportunity exists for trainees of RACP and ACEM to spend 6 to 12 months in the paediatric emergency department.

Rotations can also be combined with 6-month terms through our general paediatric unit at Casey.

About You
You're an independent, highly motivated trainee looking to work in a dynamic, well supervised environment

What you need:


  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
  • Working with Children's Certificate
