The Opportunity:

Visy Recycling have been awarded the privilege of helping to deliver Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme, CDS Vic, which will go-live in November 2023.

The scheme will reward Victorians with a 10-cent refund for every eligible can, carton and bottle they return.

Visy Recycling are an industry leader who collect, receive and sort nearly 2 million tonnes of paper, cardboard, glass, plastics, steel and aluminum from Australian and New Zealand households, businesses and schools recovering the greatest amount of material we can at our MRFs and sorting facilities.

Based out of our office location in Tullamarine and reporting to the CDS Contracts and Relationship Manager, this is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a truly dynamic and driven people person that loves to be busy and connect with different types of people.

As a highly self-motivated, autonomous and proactive Business Development Representative your primary function will be engaging with and onboarding small and not for profit entities, the Scheme's 'Over the Counter' redemption point operators.

You will be required to educate these organisations on the requirements to participate and ensure they are set up for success.

You will be joining an outcome driven, hard-working and supportive team who will provide on the job education about Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme to ensure your success.

You understand the importance of face to face communication and building lasting relationships which will help engage partners with Visy.

This role will be required to meet tight deadlines, by overachieving set targets to ultimately deliver the CDS. If you are ambitious, confident, willing to learn and a self-starter, that is passionate about recycling, Visy Recycling is the business for you

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Identify new business opportunities within Visy' appointed zone
Proactively hunt leads that will turn into business partnerships
Autonomously manage your activity to achieve the Scheme KPIs
Educate, onboard and support businesses and organisations

What you will bring to the team:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
both verbal and written
Ability to initiate and development meaningful relationships with the businesses
Proficiency in articulating the CDS requirements to key decision makers in prospective organisations
Deliver fastpaced results through the successful onboarding of organisations and businesses
Excellent presentation, negotiation and educational skills
Collaborative and inclusive team player
