Description
Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced
dairy or FMCG Production Manager with manufacturing experience to lead and manage all aspects of the production & warehousing operations.
Manufacturing
- Benchmark and drive continuous improvement in productivity, efficiency, and quality
- Implement LEAN Manufacturing principles in all production activities optimising labour, raw material utilisation, and yield performance objectives
- Complete the daily/weekly production plan.
- Conduct human and material resource planning to meet demand plan.
- Recommend and trial operational improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Provide afterhours support and assistance via phone or on site to troubleshoot or problem solve operations issues.
Leadership
- Manage and report on metrics as well as instilling understanding of metrics across the team to develop a high performancebased culture.
- Oversee the hiring, orienting, and training of production operations team members ensuring competencies are continually enhanced. Mentoring and coaching the team to.
- Be the proponent of a robust company culture that attracts and retains staff.
- Work in the factory 'hands on' during production as required to effectively manage the team, equipment and processes related to production.
Compliance
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed effectively and updated with current best practice.
- Work closely with QA Manager to ensure adherence to Safe Quality Food standards and ensure product quality and specification are consistent
- Oversee accurate transfer of stock, warehousing, and logistic functions.
Maintenance
- Manage site improvements and operational changes
- Schedule in Conjunction with the Engineering Manager the maintenance of production equipment and machines to ensure efficient operations.
- Analyze and provide solutions to manufacturing challenges or problems
- Conduct assessments to identify mechanical and procedural limitations that minimize work efficiency
About You
We are looking for a driven leader with experience in High-Risk Food manufacturing and warehousing environments.
Must be able to drive change and achieve excellent results through effective leadership, with a focus on cultural improvement and increasing employee engagement.
Strong commercial awareness and an ability to communicateYour skillset:
- A leader who is passionate about improving efficiencies with proven examples
- Has a track record of being able to analyse operations and uncover areas of opportunity and implement change
- Ability to lead manufacturing teams of more than 35 staff
- Experience in leading teams across food safety, people safety, logistics whilst being able to maintain focus on waste reduction and overall Operational efficiencies.
- Invested in succession planning and team development and prides themselves on the ability to connect with a large team by being present with them on the production floor
- Able to develop training practices for Quality Control Point and Critical Control Point
- Wealth of experience in Continuous Improvement with proven examples of having led projects with a focus on this which resulted in significant cost savings for the business
- Experience managing projects such as plant and equipment implementation, site improvement and product development and delivering on quality and timelines.
You
must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, (ideally, in dairy) that involves warehouse/logistics management, food safety, quality and production oversight.
