What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Project Support Officer.

Investigations Standards and Practices (ISP) is the professional practice body for all AFP investigators. ISP is the AFP's singular voice on behalf of investigator practice and competencies for current and future challenges.

ISP supports investigators and promotes quality and consistency in investigations. ISP's capability approach is People, Tools, Instructions and Partnerships.

Investigations as a capability will be formed from skilled people who have the right tools, the right processes, instructions and continuous learning to create maximum operational impact.

Under its People approach, ISP manages the ISP National Detective Designation and Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) Programmes.

These programmes are designed to ensure the AFP has the capacity and capability to support investigation outcomes through ensuring a transparent and consistent approach to detective and SIO processes.


You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.

It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?


The Continuums and Partnership Team is seeking a motivated person to support team outcomes in managing the National Detective Designation and SIO Programmes.


As a Band 3 the applicant would be expected to:
Draft documents for executive clearance
Enter, extract and report on data from systems including SAP, MS Teams, and PDMS
Identify and implement business improvements to practices and procedures
Contribute to a positive and energetic team culture.
Essential Requirements

A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Has the demonstrated ability to learn, the contemporary knowledge relevant to the role.
