What is the role?


Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Logistics Support Officer Specialist Protective Command (SPC).

SPC is a hybrid (specialised/operational) Command within the AFP and is responsible for establishing national strategy, governance and capabilities while also delivering operational outputs within the ACT.


SPC Logistics Team are critical to the providing a contemporary, dynamic and cost-effective logistics capability that effectively supports the code business of SPC, in domestic and international operational environments.

This includes planning and execution of, general logistics, fleet management and procurement.

Members within these teams are required to support, develop and implement activities to better support the operational needs of SPC.


As a Team Member in the AFP you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.

It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?


This position works as part of a small team who are collectively responsible for the SPC Warehouse, Armoury and Assets, ensuring sufficient minimum stock levels, to services SPC including purchasing, tracking, controlling inventory, issuing and return of controlled items and update of relevant databases.

The Logistics Support Officer is expected to undertake a variety of roles, across all streams which may include some physical activity undertaking activities and tasks such as:


General Logistics:


The SPC warehouse, ensuring sufficient minimum stock levels to service SPC including purchasing, tracking, controlling inventory, issuing and return of controlled items and update of the relevant databases.

The SPC Asset Register Control including accurate records of System Application Product (SAP), incoming and outgoing asset transfer records and issuing to members upon completion of specialist programs.

Dispatch and receipt of land, sea and air freight, including dangerous goods and controlled items in line with relevant jurisdiction legislative and regulatory requirements.

Coordination of maintenance and repairs for storage facilities
Manage the SPC munitions including but not limited to supporting forecasting, stakeholder engagement, monitoring usage and reporting on munition levels
Provide logistic support during the planning, preparation and deployment of specialist capability to support AFP operations both domestically and internationally
Prepare freight forwarding and receipt of freight including dangerous goods domestically and internationally
Undertake projects, research and other tasks as required to support SPC operational teams.


Fleet:

Monitor and maintain SPC Fleet, including FBT implications

Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure vehicles are fit for purpose, as part of the vehicle procurement and disposal process.

Undertake monthly vehicle inspections to confirm operational equipment is maintained
Obtain and maintain appropriate licences as required


Procurement:

Raise Basic Spending Proposals, High and Low Values Spending Proposals, Purchase Orders and create shopping carts, prepare and re
