About the Role


The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to projects, activities and initiatives and assist the Indigenous Strategy work in reaching its objectives.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the coordination of Indigenous Strategy projects
  • Organising and supporting teleconferences and face to face meetings
  • Organising travel & accommodation
  • Secretariat support including preparing meeting agendas and minute taking
  • Assisting in the review of Member complaints
  • Supporting key Indigenous strategy initiatives
  • Support the management of work plans for the Reconciliation Action Plan
  • Support stakeholder meetings with bookings, briefings, and followup

_Please note that this role is an Indigenous identified position, with a two-year full time contract length._

Desired Skills and Experience:


About You

_Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and accepted in the community as such. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-discrimination Act 1997._

  • Demonstrated understanding of issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
  • Previous experience in working in First Nations health and knowledge of the Aboriginal Community Controlled health services sector
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and Strong interpersonal skills
  • High level administrative, timemanagement and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines in a high workload area
