We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as an Integration and Test Lead within our Battlespace Integrated Solutions line of business with our High Frequency Surveillance (HFS) team based at our Melbourne Bourke St Office

Your new role:

The Integration and Test Lead is responsible for all test and integration engineering related activities in accordance with relevant project procedures and work
Instructions along with delivery of an integrated system to the system test team. This team is responsible for Integration of key subsystems supporting customer surveillance systems.

If you have strong experience as a qualified Engineer (ideally in demonstrated experience in integration and test) this could be the role for you.


In more specific terms you will:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team in the fields of integration and test
  • Plan and conduct systems integration activities based on the integration requirements defined by the Systems Architect
  • Undertake physical and functional installation of qualified components into the system and the incremental verification of physical and functional interfaces to demonstrate requirements are met
  • Develop integration related documentation in accordance with appropriate standards
  • Work effectively as part of the test and integration team and provide guidance and mentoring to team members, as required
  • Provide support to other teams or individuals with regards to activities performed by the test and integration team
  • Assist in development of any tools/ rigs necessary for integration of the deliverable system
  • Identify opportunities for the improvement of integration practices
  • Ensure Problem Reports are raised for all system problems identified during system integration and where possible, isolate such problems to specific system components
  • Liaise with product managers and the system architect, in resolution of Problem Reports
  • Develop estimations for new integration work
  • Provide input and offer recommendations for improvement of company processes and standard procedures
About you


As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Current NV1 Security Clearance (or higher)
  • Previous Domain expertise
  • Experience in effective management of a multidisciplined team in a integration and test environment
  • Sound knowledge of structured engineering development practices as applied to
- development of military equipment and services

  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills
  • Broad range of hardware and software development skills for real time systems/ computer systems
  • Be able to see patterns, trends, or missing pieces when looking at information
  • Challenge and analyses situations, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Be able to identify the underlying issues and motives of any communication and act appropriately
  • Work persistently to exceed the requirements of the job
  • Be supportive and proactive in the development of others
  • Capable of performing to strict deadlines
  • Ability to function confidently within a team environment and adapt to changing task requirements and priorities
  • Skills and experience in System Architecting, Qualification Testing, System integration and testing, Feasibility Studies, Safety Critical Systems, Simulation, Training Systems, Metrics and Reporting, and Process improvement
  • An ability to complete test plans, procedures and reports
  • Knowledge of Mathematical and Tactical Environment Modelling


As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
