SMAART Recruitment has partnered with an Australian market leader in truck and transport insurance. They are now looking for

4 Customer Service Consultants to join the team in their state of the art

Charlestown (Newcastle) office, starting on the

1st of May.


As a customer service consultant you will be the first point of contact for their customers when they run into problems with their truck, and you play a big part in the full problem-solving cycle.

You may have to think outside the box to make sure their customers get the right help in a timely manner.


This is a varied role that will see you work with customers as well as other service providers like tow companies and medical or incident response.

The role is diverse, but you will be well equipped to handle a range of different queries and situations due to their 14 weeks of extensive paid training and onboarding.


About the position:


  • Full time permanent position
- $68,620 salary package (inclusive of super) + penalty rates for early/late/weekend shifts + performance bonus

  • Rotating roster between 6:00am and 8:30pm, Monday-Friday
  • They are a 24/7 operation, so from time to time you may have the opportunity to do an early start or late finish, or work a weekend shift, which attract penalty rates
  • Charlestown (Newcastle) location, modern office
  • After a 6month probation the role will become hybrid and you can work from home 2 days a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays
  • Extensive 14 weeks of paid training
  • 4 positions starting on the 1st of May

What we are looking for:


  • Someone who is empathetic and enjoys helping people
  • Previous experience in customer service, call centre, retail or hospitality would be great
  • Ability to think on your feet and problem solve
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with computer systems or affinity with technology
  • Resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure
