    The role:

    A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced, passionate and committed Qualified Educator to join Council and continue to improve on the operations of our children's services centre by assisting the director to supervise and lead all staff within the children's service centre.

    To support the Director in providing leadership, guidance and mentoring to Whitehorse Early Learning Service staff to ensure they fulfil their roles and responsibilities.

    You will coordinate rosters, recruitment, meetings, training and development for staff and yourself inline with frameworks and legislation to meet the education and care needs of children and families of our service.

    Ensure yourself and the staff have a working knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures and that they are implemented throughout the service. You will actively develop positive relationships and support collaboration with diverse families to enable them to contribute to the program and our service overall.

    About you:

    With a genuine interest in meeting the needs of children and their families, you will demonstrate an ability to support leading a team of early years professionals with a holistic approach to the care, education and development of children that reflects an awareness of the wellbeing of children in our care. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills to enable effective and professional engagement with children, families, staff and other relevant professionals.

    Your communication style will gain cooperation and assistance from and negotiate with children, families and team members. You will have an ability to discuss and resolve complex problems with families, staff and colleagues. Your manner will convey tolerance and sensitivity to family and children's values and needs.

    You will hold a Diploma in Children's Services or other qualification deemed by the National Quality Framework to be equivalent or superior.
