The ORS Positive Behaviour Support division are looking for an experienced Team Leader to lead and support a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners in Maitland.

You will bring your NDIS knowledge and experience to support a team of skilled, enthusiastic and passionate Provisional Psychologists and Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners.

In addition to leading the team of practitioners, you will also maintain a reduced case load.

ORS employs over 600 people around Australia, with more than 260 in the behaviour support division.

This role will form part of the senior leadership team in Behaviour Support, and will report directly to the State Manager.

Your responsibilities as a Team Leader will include:

  • Consulting and providing positive behavioural support services to people with disability and their service providers/families, in line with an individual's NDIS plan and goals.
  • Develop effective positive behaviour support plans that incorporate useful and cutting edge strategies and interventions.
  • Provide services across different environments including homes, schools, community programs, workplaces, telehealth and/or ORS offices
  • Liaise and network with other allied health professionals and support workers to achieve positive client outcomes through a holistic and supportive approach
  • Provide support and guidance to other staff regarding identification, authorisation and reporting of restrictive practices

You will be able to connect with these experts in one on one and group training sessions, plus have the ability to pick up the phone at any time to ask their advice.


A few requirements:


  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Behaviour Support (desirable).
  • Suitable Bachelor qualifications to undertake behaviour support assessments (i.e. Psychology, Nursing, Criminology or Education)
  • Experience working as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with NDIS participants
  • NDIS registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (or the ability to become registered)
  • A car and licence
  • A National Police Clearance and Working With Children/Working with Vulnerable People Check (or willingness to obtain one before commencement)
