    Pay rate: $600/day + super
    Duration: ASAP start date - 31 December 2024
    Work location: Parramatta
    WFH: 1 day in office (Wednesdays)
    Working hours: 8hours/day, 40hours/week
    Grade: 9/10

    A leading NSW Government Department is looking for a senior project officer to join their team on a 7 month contract.

    Key accountabilities

    • Sets own priorities and those of any staff/project staff supervised.
    • Maintains independence to develop a suitable approach in managing a unit/team, allocating resources, determining the conceptual framework towards projects and development of strategic plans.
    • Has a high level of responsibility for determining appropriate unit/team actions undertaken, within government and legislative policies, and for ensuring quality control in the implementation of unit/team work.
    • Ensures that unit/team recommendations are based on sound evidence, but at times may be required to use their judgement under pressure or in the absence of complete information or as the source of expert advice to internal stakeholders across the Gov department as well as externally.
    • Able to prepare advice, papers and meeting briefs for Senior Executive, as well as coordinate input from across key Government areas.
    • Manage, plan, and implement projects, including developing and monitoring project plans, coordinating resources, and monitoring budgets to ensure successful project milestones are met.
    • Seek out and actively manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships based on open and regular discussions and feedback, to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design and policy implementation


    Your Experience:

    • Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, organisations, communities and people
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-level correspondence and reports.
    • Experience with Community engagement and cross collaboration between other Government agencies
    • Experience working with the Office suite, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
