Operating within this unit is the Strategic Projects team, dedicated to streamline processes and optimise efficiency for busy school teams.
About the role
As a Project officer, you will be skilled in project coordination, supporting vital performance and development initiatives, training programs and teacher accreditation process.
Your expertise and extensive project management background will be instrumental in building innovative tools, resources, and solutions that not only enhance professional learning courses but also streamline accreditation procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams, integrating tools and resources seamlessly.
- Maintain project documentation for effective reporting, monitoring, and achieving project outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement by collaborating with the team and gathering feedback.
- Comprehensively understanding compliance and governance requirements.
- Monitor project progress and providing regular updates to management and stakeholders.
- A strategic planner and obtaining approvals to ensure project alignment with business objectives.

Essential requirements of the role
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
- Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment.
Key knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

You are a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. You excel in meticulously managing projects and ensuring every aspect receives thorough attention. You foster collaboration and maintain a shared understanding of project goals and progress.
You are also a true team player that will demonstrate:
- Initiative and taking full ownership of tasks and driving them to completion.
- Strong communication skills and keeping the team informed.
- Proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Suites, including Microsoft Planner and Project
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive nature and ability to anticipate challenges and risk before they arise.
