About the Role

  • The _Ore Preparation Area_ consists of the Sinter Plant and the Raw Materials Handling Area. The Sinter Plant's major function is to produce sinter of the right size and composition to encourage even smelting in the blast furnace.
  • The Port Kembla Steelworks has achieved
    _Responsible Steel certification_, which recognises the sustainability of the operations across several indicators, including social, environmental and governance. The Steelworks is only the fourth steelmaker in the world to receive this certification and the first steelmaking site accredited in the Asia Pacific

What you will need:


  • Australian Recognised Trade Qualification (Mechanical Fitter/Machinist)
  • Recent work experience in a heavy industrial environment (experience in rotating equipment desirable)
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices
  • Working at Heights and Confined Space (desirable but not essential)
