We are currently looking for PROCUREMENT CATEGORY MANAGER (IT) for one of our clients.


As a PROCUREMENT CATEGORY MANAGER (IT) you will be responsible for the procurement lifecycle of IT contracts including planning, research, tendering, contract management and completion, and will optimise relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve success for the business.


Key Duties:


  • Manages the full life cycle of contracts within the category.
  • Coordinates and manages vendor performance; initiates reviews and liaising with Branch stakeholders as to the contract's effectiveness, both cost and performance.
  • Undertakes or participates in discussions with vendor and internal stakeholders to resolve problems associated with the execution and/or management of contracts, ensuring corrective actions are defined and executed.
  • Acts as the key Point of Contact (POC) for all Procurement related matters to the position aligned business branch.
  • Ensures a client / branch focus on service delivery, ensuring that a Business Partnering approach to Procurement is adopted at all times.
  • Contributes to Fremantle Ports strategic direction and business planning through ongoing awareness of best practice, trends and issues concerning the core functions of their allocated Division and the Procurement function.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Tertiary qualification and/or commercial experience in a relevant discipline (e.g.

Strategic Procurement, Commerce, IT)

  • Progress towards a relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. Strategic Procurement, Commerce, IT)

Technical, Professional and Specialist Skills:


  • Demonstrated interpersonal, relationship management and negotiation skills with ability to liaise, consult and negotiate effectively at senior levels.
  • Demonstrated commercial experience in the planning, development and/or management of high risk, complex contracts to meet strategic and operational business needs within a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability in establishing and leading work groups and/or project teams, encouraging team contribution.
  • Highly developed written communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare and present complex Procurement and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated analytical, research and conceptual skills with the ability to provide appropriate solutions to complex problems and issues.
  • Highly developed organisational skills with ability to manage a large workload and achieve desired outcomes within timeframes.

Desirable:


  • Working knowledge of IT Procurement, IT Contract Management, and IT environments.
  • Demonstrated commercial experience in Procurement Category Management.
