    About the Department

    Our client, a Federal Agency develops and deliver policies and programs and advise the Australian Government on health, aged care and sport. They work with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure better health for all Australians.

    About the Role

    The Workforce Incentives and Innovation Branch aims to improve access to health services in regional, rural, and remote areas, through outreach programs and workforce distribution strategies, including Medicare access for overseas trained doctors, effective rural and workforce shortage classification systems, and scholarship, locum, and rural recruitment support programs.

    The Programs and Scholarships Section is responsible for several programs aimed at improving the access, quality, and sustainability of the regional, rural, and remote health workforce.

    Duties

    • Program management of new and existing workforce programs and grants, including assisting in the development of New Policy Proposals for Budget initiatives.
    • Develop, manage, and deliver projects, including project plans, evaluations, and reporting.
    • Interpret, draft, and advise on complex policy and procedural directions.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Experience in program and grants management, including initiation and ongoing management, preferably in the Commonwealth environment.
    • Experience in briefing against program outcomes and issues.
    • Well-developed research, analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

    What's on offer

    The successful candidate will be offered an APS6 salary, in line with the Departments Enterprise agreement, and your experience. Notionally you will be offered a 6month opportunity with view to extend. Position is located in Canberra.

    As this role is with the Federal Government, only Australian citizens that hold a baseline clearance or a willingness to obtain, will be considered for this vacancy.
