Description
Flexible and family friendly environment

  • Career and professional development opportunities
  • Work on a variety of projects

Our client is a thriving proudly Australian owned and operated, advanced design, engineering and manufacturing business with a successful 60-year history servicing industries including Defence (Navy), Resources (Oil and Gas and Mining) and Industrial, Construction.

They are located across Australia and are the parent company to multiple other successful subsidiary businesses.

Due to their continued stable growth and ongoing long-term contracts across their Defence and Commercial Marine maintenance and life support projects, they are currently looking to appoint a

Service / Maintenance Technician to join their friendly, laid-back and tight-knit team.

You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from complex valve repair work to maintenance of reverse osmosis plants, oily water separators, pumps, breathing air[D1] systems and even submarine hyperbaric and escape chambers

Majority of your time will be spent working with the team at the O'Connor office & warehouse, with the occasional need to get out onto the Navy vessels and submarines in Henderson, installing, repairing and maintaining the equipment as scheduled.

This is a flexible, family friendly environment in a rock-solid business with long-term contract stability, a great reputation for quality, and great work-life balance for those with children or other personal commitments/interests outside of work.

The role will suit someone who enjoys a relaxed environment, with a variety of tasks and projects to tick along with, that genuinely cares about quality, doing the right thing and working with a down to earth, friendly and caring team.

Ideally you will have:

  • Relevant Trade Certification/Qualifications or equivalent experience in mechanical / service technician or similar role
  • A background in Defence and/or Marine Industry work is highly advantageous but not essential
  • Good communication and people skills with the ability to build long lasting positive relationships with the internal team and our external stakeholders
  • Ability to pass a police clearance and Australian Citizenship essential
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Long term commitment to company (they want to invest in you long term too)
  • Other relevant tickets ie. Forklift, working at heights etc desirable but not essential
Our client is looking for people who demonstrate commitment and have a long term view of their career.

This is company where the vast majority of staff have been with the business for many, many years, who remain happy and have grown within the business based on their commitment to their team, clients and projects.

This investment and outlook is very important for our client to protect their great culture, and invest their extensive training and expertise in the right people.

In return

You will work for a leading company on diverse projects, receive competitive benefits with workplace flexibility, work within a great team, be well supported, and develop the career/job that works best for you, whilst being recognised for the time, attention, skills and commitment that you bring.

Where you have the capability and desire, the business will offer leadership opportunities within the service & maintenance team, or to act as key client liaison, or develop project management skills working with the engineering or management area.

So, if you have the drive, this is a great opportunity to develop into a new area with a truly supportive management team who continue to demonstrate their commitment to staff through ongoing promotional and development opportunities.
