Who are we?

The Role:
Design Manager, Water


In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Integrating risk management principles and methodologies into project systems and processes.
  • Leading the delivery of highquality designs on projects, taking accountability for business and project delivery.
  • Collaborating with other design organizations in Alliances or Joint Ventures to achieve project objectives.
  • Managing the design team and interfacing with the contractor workforce.
  • Securing design team resources for each project, with the ultimate responsibility resting with the business section executive.
  • Preparing design fee estimates for both the tender design phase and the delivery phase of each project.
  • Liaising with other key roles in the Alliance or JV.
  • Overseeing the overall delivery of designs within scheduled timelines, budget constraints, and quality requirements. You will also manage Engineering governance processes, including design reviews, change management, request for information, validation, and verification, pertaining to the design.

Skills and Experience Required:

To be considered for this position, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A recognized Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical (Process), or Electrical engineering.
  • Relevant (Water) industry experience.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in the field.
  • Strong experience in collaborating with other design organizations in Alliances or Joint Ventures, handling conflicts between organizational cultures and business systems demands.
  • Extensive experience owning and being responsible for design signoffs, ensuring legal compliance, quality standards, and client satisfaction on projects.
  • Established and managed complex design processes and systems in highprofile projects.
  • Proven competency in project management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities.
  • Proficiency in handling multiple tasks across several projects within the business unit.
  • Basic knowledge of contracts or drafting variations would be desirable.
