Mechanical Supervisor
Kimberley Regional Service Providers (KRSP) provide a range of quality services including maintenance, repair and capital works that improve the quality of life for Indigenous people living in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia.
With a presence in Broome and regional Kimberley locations including Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra, KRSP have a reputation for technical innovation, reliability, quality of workmanship and professional services.
LOCATION
The role will operate out of our Broome office and requires regular travel to locations in the Kimberley region.
ABOUT THE POSITION
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and hands-on mechanical supervisor to join our business in a key leadership role within our Essential Services team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Mechanical Supervisor - Essential Services provides overall supervision and direction to the field maintenance crews and technicians to ensure the delivery of essential services to remote Aboriginal communities.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Ensure KRSP standards, practices and expectations are implemented and carried out in the field
- Provide technical support, supervision, and advice to service crews
- Oversee mechanical activities for planned and preventative maintenance servicing including engine replacement programs
- Coordinate of emergency breakdown maintenance
- Provide technical training to service crews
- Manage OH&S and environmental obligations
- Prepare required reporting and generate quotes
- Complete ordering and system documentation
- Provide afterhours support to KRSP staff in the field
ABOUT YOU We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated leader with a strong maintenance background who has a track record of success in a similar position. You will have a natural ability to lead and influence others to achieve desired outcomes and will demonstrate a high work ethic, integrity, and safe work practices. Your positive mindset in dealing with work and people will be highly regarded.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Australian Recognised Mechanical Trade qualification (LV/HD) _Essential_
- Mechanical Background and Knowledge
- Management and development of teams of tradespeople
- Remote data acquisition programming and development
- Monitoring and control of remote monitoring systems
- Planned maintenance tune up and engine fault diagnosis
- Engine speed control diagnosis and testing
- Engine protections systems diagnosis and testing
- Engine fuel system testing and diagnosis
- Cooling system performance component diagnostics
- Bulk fuel storage and delivery mechanical systems testing and diagnosis
- Current C class drivers' licence and first aid qualifications
- Have full and unrestricted Australian work rights
Prior experience and understanding of systems, regulatory requirements and compliance to standards in relation to Power Generation and Distribution, Potable Water Supply and Service, Potable Water Treatment and Storage, Wastewater Systems and Water and Waste Water Sampling and Testing would be highly desirable.
