The Program Manager is responsible for designing and delivering significant Operations transformation projects to ensure QA meets operational performance and financial targets to deliver required future commercial and customer outcomes.

The role will have responsibility for identifying, developing and evaluating project proposals and business cases.

In addition the Program Manager will scope and lead the delivery of priority projects working with the relevant business leads and business units to ensure business, operational and customer targets are met.

The role will have responsibility for providing transformation leadership and influence to executive-level stakeholders across the business.

The role will also drive strong governance of the QA Operations transformation program of work and will be responsible for ensuring steering committee materials are produced for senior stakeholders as required.

It is expected that the Program Manager role models the best of Qantas Group PM skills and practices, is familiar with industry standard (and ideally Qantas Group) PM tools (Lean, Agile, etc.) and guides the business and direct reports in selecting and using the appropriate tools.

You'll have

  • 5+ years' experience in a Program / Project Management
  • Tertiary qualification in business/commerce, aviation or program management and or equivalent experience
  • Project management expertise and/or Lean / Agile / business improvement capability
  • Ability to plan and execute project delivery
  • Strong communications skills both verbal and written
  • Able to work crossfunctionally and align business unit processes
  • Ability to influence stakeholders for best overall outcome, strong ability to 'make things happen'
  • Demonstrated bias to action and strong ability to 'make things happen'Proven planning, analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to work effectively and a high level of accuracy
  • Time management skills
  • Work well under pressure and with ambiguity, high level of resilience
  • Ability to show initiative and sound judgement when required to make decisions and gain cooperation.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
