About the role


As part of the Local Laws and Parking team your main focus will be on contributing to the development, enhancement and effective implementation of community compliance to maintain and enhance quality of life outcomes for residents, businesses, and visitors to the City.

You will develop and implement compliance strategies and processes which are consistent with Council's objectives in the area of Local Laws, environmental and waste matters and legislation.


In the position of Coordinator (Local Laws and Parking), you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of officers and complete complex investigations including undertaking compliance notice reviews as required by legislation.


Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver successful outcomes for the customer service requests managed by the teams
  • Facilitate and coordinate investigation activities
  • Provide advice to officers regarding state legislation and Council's Local Laws, investigation, and enforcement provisions_ _
  • Mentor and develop the skills of officers
  • Build good relationships with key stakeholders

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant professional qualification and or substantial experience in conducting investigations
  • Experience in leading and managing compliance officers and or teams conducting investigations
  • Be an excellent communicator, both orally and written
  • The ability to build successful relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership
  • Hold a Current Queensland C class driver's licence

Highly desirable

  • Degree in Public Sector Administration, Law, or similar qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations
  • Any other qualifications in a relevant area related to this role

This is a full-time permanent position, Level 7 with a salary between $110,57- S117,271 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
