    Purchasing Officer, ANZ

    About the Role

    This is an exceptional opportunity to join our Global Operations team as Purchasing Officer based in onsite WACOL, Brisbane .

    This role reports directly to the Demand Planner with a dotted reporting to the Plant Manager. You will work in close partnership with the commercial team, Customer Service, Procurement, Planning, Operations, Quality & Regulatory, and external interface with freight forwarders, and suppliers.

    Key Responsibilities

    To facilitate the timely & efficient supply and delivery of raw materials to the Brisbane site whilst working within the defined parameters associated with Regional & Global procurement protocols, optimising inventory levels, pricing & supply costs and site operations efficiencies – on-time supply.

  • To place Purchase orders to ensure the adequate and timely delivery of materials to the site enabling efficient operations for the site – supplier shelf life, warehousing, production, and customer service.
  • To monitor material demand/product forecasting and communicate potential RM shortages to the Site Demand Planner and Plant Manager, investigate/provide alternate options for discussion.
  • Maintain RM & Packaging inventory levels within the requirements of the site and in accordance with Global Procurement guidelines, as adapted for the Brisbane site.
  • Ensure Goods arrive on time and in full to the site and communicate all delays & early delivery issues to the Factory supervisor, QA team, Planner and Plant Manager.
  • Support sourcing alternate suppliers domestically & globally – service level, lead times & price.
  • Provide support to the APAC Commercial team with RM pricing updates for Customer Contracts.
  • Maintain current pricing, freight costs supply lead times and any unique supply details within the SAP systems and any Reports related to the supply/inventory levels of materials to the site.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party logistics transportation department, arrange shipment schedule and monitor shipment status daily and provide a weekly update (Thursday) on incoming goods – Incoming Report.
  • Coordinate with Factory supervisor and monitor the status of daily Goods-in receives. Follow up on the issue status till it is resolved – Supplier, Freight / Transport.
  • Familiar with the Import process and maintain a good understanding of the import regulations/policy. Ensure required documentation for RM is current and correctly processed.
  • Monitor Slow-moving SOH materials and obtain information to discuss with the Demand Planner.
  • Optimise freight options via consolidation or quantities where appropriate.
  • Ensure site Quality, Regulatory, Demand Planners are updated with RM spec or packaging changes.
  • Measure and report or Supplier performance – DIFOT, Quality, Shelf life.
  • Monthly cost & data checking and initiating or participating in cost-saving and continuous improvement projects with site-based teams or with external parties to benefit the Site & T&L business.
  • Work closely with relevant internal and external parties to support the Site, T&L business & customers and offer practical solutions & alternatives to any issues or events.

    • Support the EHSQ standards and requirements for the Site & Company – engagement & participation.

    Participate in T&L's J2EE program including being an Element owner and providing support to others.

    About You

    The successful candidate should have the following experiences/skills: -

  • 5 years' experience in either Purchasing / Procurement / Customer Service
  • Experience working in an FMCG / Food Ingredients / Chemical background is an added advantage.
  • User o MRP systems (SAP, Microsoft) is essential.
  • Experience in importing, warehousing, and logistics arrangement
  • Strong coordination with the ability to multi-task within a tight deadline
  • Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders and customers/suppliers.
  • Team player and able to work independently.
  • Meticulous, strong administration skills to prepare and generate reports.
