The Role
We are looking to recruit a purchasing officer to join one of Australia's most well known brands.
This role will be an initial 6 month contract role with the view to extend.
Our client is a leading manufacturer enjoying an extensive brand portfolio. Due to growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to support in the purchasing departmnet.
Based in the
head office South of Brisbane's CBD your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the purchasing orders across a large portfolio of SKUs from suppliers both local and overseas.
- Track orders and liaise with staff to keep them informed of delivery schedules
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure product deliveries are properly scheduled
- Review specifications of purchased products
- Following up and addressing price discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders
- Maintain accurate ERP Inventory data and utilise excel.
- Effectively engage internal spend owners and external suppliers to ensure a smooth and consistent procurement process
- Ad Hoc Admin support as required.
To be successful you'll have:
- Ideally 12 years' experience in a purchasing role and experience in managing new and existing suppliers within a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of purchasing principles as well as wider knowledge of Supply Chain.
- Use of SAP, Ariba, Microsoft Excel.
- Good time management skills.
- Positive attitude, resilient. Enjoy working as part of a team and well as individually.
- Understanding of Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).
