The position will work closely with the technical experts, project teams, legal and procurement functions to ensure that suitable and timely grid connection commercial agreements are executed and administered to meet the project needs in the development phase as well as administer the ongoing obligations within those contracts during the construction phase.

Job Description

Join our team as a Commercial Manager, responsible for providing essential expertise to the Engineering and Construction team in grid connection activities.

Collaborate closely with technical experts, project teams, legal, and procurement functions to ensure the successful execution and administration of grid connection commercial agreements.

Your expertise will play a critical role in achieving project success during the development and construction phases of this newly created position.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage the procurement and contracting process for grid connection activities, including negotiations with NSPs, suppliers, consultants, contractors, and partners.
Determine the appropriate commercial structure and contract form in collaboration with the Legal team.
Establish efficient contract administration processes and support the project team in administering contracts.
Contribute to the development of commercial strategies for grid connection activities for our dynamic projects.
Identify opportunities for business improvement and implement new processes and systems to support business growth.

Please note this role can be based in Melbourne, Brisbane, or Sydney.
Required Skills and Competencies

Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Law, or a relevant business discipline.
Possess extensive commercial experience in the energy industry, specifically in grid connection.
Demonstrate expertise in developing and implementing commercial strategies for grid connection activities.
Familiarity with contracts involving NSPs, consultants, equipment suppliers, and contractors.
Proven track record in achieving financial close.
Exceptional contract negotiation skills and experience.
