We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to ensure the safe and environmentally responsible operation of our projects.

As a key member of our team, you will promote a culture of safety and compliance while fostering positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.

About You

You are passionate about safety and possess a strong understanding of environmental protection principles.

With 3-5 years of operational experience in safety management, preferably in the construction industry, you are adept at identifying hazards and implementing effective control measures.

Your clear communication skills and attention to detail enable you to engage and inspire others to prioritize safety in all aspects of their work.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure that all operations are carried out safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Promote a positive safety culture among all site workers, leading by example.
  • Ensure project compliance with legislation related to plant and equipment usage, workplace activities, and industry standards. Identify authority requirements and manage necessary approvals for the project.
  • Advise on contractual safety requirements and recommend modifications to achieve project goals. Conduct projectspecific inductions for all workers, emphasizing hazard awareness and control measures.
  • Engage workers at all levels to gain commitment to safe behavior and zero tolerance for unsafe practices. Manage safetyrelated complaints, nonconformance, and auditing procedures, reporting to the Senior Safety Advisor. Assist with safety audits and inspections of subcontractors and suppliers. Investigate incidents and unsafe working conditions, recommending remedial actions as necessary.
  • Conduct project site safety inspections and observations. Assist with project startup activities, including initial risk assessment and sitespecific safety planning.
  • Participate in relevant training programs and stay informed about industry developments. Build and maintain relationships with clients and consultants, resolving issues and ensuring project objectives are met. Support the Senior Safety Advisor in achieving project safety targets and promoting a strong safety culture.
Required Skills and Competencies


Requirements:


  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Current advanced certificate in First Aid.
  • Working knowledge of risk assessments and audit procedures.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Package.
  • Minimum of 35 years of operational experience in safety management, preferably in construction or a related industry.
