The diverse and talented staff in the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) play a central role in achieving ECU's vision, and in designing and implementing future-oriented teaching and learning strategies.

With its base at the Joondalup Campus, the CLT delivers a comprehensive suite of services and programmes on campus and online that promote high quality learning and teaching outcomes for students and academic staff.

The CLT's newly formed Educational Integrity team leads the whole-of-institution approach to academic integrity at ECU.


THE ROLE

The CLT is seeking a highly experienced academic practitioner with national standing in the field of teaching and learning and student success and a commitment to excellence and equity in higher education to lead the Educational Integrity team.


The Manager, Educational Integrity is responsible for the leadership and management of a dynamic team dedicated to supporting staff and students with guidance and training on what constitutes academic misconduct and developing good practice in maintaining academic integrity.


Collaborating with learning and teaching leaders across the University, the Manager Educational Integrity develops and implements policies, frameworks, and strategies to build staff capability in detecting, reporting, investigating and deliberating outcomes of academic misconduct.

This role supports consistency of practices, decisions, and outcomes, including through active participation in in serious misconduct panels.

Working collaboratively across central services and schools, the Manager, Educational Integrity also plays a role in mitigating foreseeable risks to academic integrity and fostering an educative approach to generating and communicating information in an ethical and responsible manner.

The Manager Educational Integrity will proactively assist coordination of activities related to the University's response to the emergence of technologies in learning and teaching that impact learning and teaching activities, assessment and academic integrity, with a particular reference to Artificial Intelligence.

Capabilities

PhD and extensive relevant experience working in a higher education setting and or equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training;
Demonstrated experience in developing guidance and training for staff and students;
Demonstrated experience managing student academic misconduct in a fair and equitable manner;
Demonstrated deep understanding of current policy imperatives in higher education and their relevance to the Educational Integrity role and the implementation of University-wide academic integrity initiatives;
High level communication skills with exemplary interpersonal and complex problem solving skills and proven ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders and capacity to lead cross University committees;
Commitment to excellence and equity in higher education consistent with the varied disciplines at Edith Cowan University;

Proven high level leadership and management skills comprising the ability to lead and mentor people and significant expertise in the management of financial and physical resources to achieve business outcomes.


You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University's values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence, and Courage.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full time, ongoing position is open to Academic Level C and attracts remuneration of $128,880 to $148,809 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
