Description

1. Purpose of the Role (Multiple Positions)

Responsible for conducting safe and efficient preventative maintenance and repairs on processing equipment and plant, along with operating the processing equipment to ensure a quality product is manufactured and loaded for distribution to Tyrecycle customers.

Plant includes but is not limited to crushers, shredders, granulators and sorters.

2. Reporting / Working Relationships

Reports to:
Plant Manager / Supervisor

Key Relationships:
Plant Supervisor, Shift team members, Maintenance team, National Maintenance Planner

3. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Foster and promote safe working behaviours and display a commitment to Tyrecycle safety standards and OHS requirements
Compliance with Tyrecycle's operating safety guidelines and training requirements
Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance assigned tasks
Sort tyres/recyclable materials according to prescribed criteria
Operate forklift/bobcat/excavator to move materials for processing, sorting, storing and transporting
Operate recycling processing equipment including but not limited to crushers, shredders, granulators and sorters to meet or exceed market requirements
Unload materials from trucks
Remove contamination from recyclable material
Load materials into containers
Maintain production standards
Assist during installation of new equipment or additional equipment to current processes
Clean plant equipment and work areas
Perform other duties as per business requirements
Maintain inventory records

4. Skills / Experience

Fitter and turner trade certified or other relevant trade qualifications.
Experience operating plant equipment
Experience working with maintenance and repairs on fixed and mobile plant equipment.
Possess a good mechanical aptitude.
Ability to take responsibility and follow a preventative maintenance program.
Understanding of safe work practices and manual handling
Be motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to work as part of a team.
Have a good work ethic and employment history.
Physically fit to handle repetitive heavy lifting up to 20kgs.

Be comfortable working at heights and/or confined spaces wearing the required safety PPE
