Position Information:


Oran Park Public School (anticipated enrolment 1400 students) has established a culture of providing quality explicit teaching and learning programs for all students, through an innovative, differentiated and engaging curriculum.

There is a strong focus on student achievement with current priorities including literacy, numeracy, quality teaching, integrating technology and curriculum differentiation, with an emphasis on enhancing student wellbeing.

All teachers collaboratively plan their teaching programs.

The staff is committed to ensuring that every student is known, valued and cared for through a suite of wellbeing programs built around Choice Theory, Positive Behaviour for Learning and the Kindness on Purpose programs.

The school prides itself in providing inclusive education for all. In 2024 there will be approximately 53 mainstream classes and 7 support classes (AU, IO/AU, IM).


Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary

1) Demonstrated exemplary leadership skills and emotional intelligence which enhances the capacity of others and strengthens staff efficacy to drive a culture of high expectations throughout our diverse school community.

3) Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of the school's senior executive team and build staff capacity to strategically lead the school towards excellence across all priorities.

4) Proven ability to support the well-being of students through proactive strategies that encourage positive behaviour and create an inclusive, engaging learning environment where all students can achieve and maximise their learning outcomes.**
General Selection Criteria:•Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
